OVERVIEW

First person shooter mixed with knowledge-vania. 
Blacksands is a puzzle game, Knowledge-vania and an FPS. In this game, you play as a gladiator trapped in a time loop, forced to fight again and again for the entertainment of a sadistic alien audience. You and your ally can only rely on the knowledge acquired during your previous lives to hope one day to break this endless cycle.

MY CONTRIBUTION

We had a strong headstart, in the designer team. We quickly got together for a few days to decide of the vision, the scope, and then started producing the documents, to share our vision to the teal.

Multiple tools were used : 3C, Pillars, Timelines, level design schemes, etc.

It was a lot of back and forth to answer questions from the programmers and the artists, as well as giving them a hand in systems and designs, to keep the experience at bay.

Naturally, we had strong ambitions for this project, that became harder and harder to keep after weeks of productions, as the deadline kept approaching. We took some hard decisions to scrap some levels and features, to keep the experience best coherant and polished as it could be in the time we had.
